Gmund, 11. In the context of the exhibition, selected guests from the industry and design agencies were invited to attend a successful event on 26 February. Interesting lectures about the latest collections (e.g. 100%-cotton Gmund Cotton and the vibrantly coloured sparkling papers in the Gmund Action line) left no questions unanswered for the specialised audience. Korean broadcaster KBS 1 aired a documentary about the Gmund Paper Mill, thus providing background information about the brand’s philosophy, its voluntary compliance with the Gmund Eco environmental certificate and its traditional production site in the Upper Bavarian town of Gmund in Germany. This past December, a Korean film team visited Gmund’s production facility, where the Asian film crew spent three days shooting video footage and conducting comprehensive interviews with the papermakers.
Designers and marketing experts from every part of South Korea were enthusiastic about the exhibition, which chronicled the firm’s more than 180-year history and showed examples of successful and effective ways to use Gmund’s papers.
